Paul Aguilar made his Pachuca debut in the 2006 Apertura, and took little time showing his quality. He is a defender blessed with great pace and an excellent physical condition, who gets forward well to join the attack and can shoot from distance.

Although initially in and out of the team at Pachuca, he has barely missed a game since he nailed down a starting position in the 2008 Clausura.

Aguilar had his first Mexico call-up in 2007 but it was not until September 2009 that he made his debut, scoring the late consolation goal in a 2-1 home loss to Colombia. By the time he joined the training camp for home-based players in Mexico's FIFA World Cup™ squad in April, he still had only three caps to his name.

Yet the 24-year-old will hope to show in South Africa the qualities that have made him a key player for Pachuca at both ends of the pitch. In 108 matches for his club, he has scored ten goals – not a bad figure for someone whose principal function is to stop the opposition getting close to his goal.","55115EEDFFE75225FD0E1787F70FC7CB":"2021-7-19","7850BFBCDDAACDE9":"Paul Aguilar","57C2653B331A7DDA9BB5C336225EACEB":"0","2E0C5ADB6636D43E":"179cm","e_index":4};
