During the season, he would be an important offensive weapon for the fifth-placed team in La Liga and, in two starts, netted goals in home wins against Real Madrid (1&#8211;0) and FC Barcelona (2&#8211;0), playing 90 minutes on both occasions.<BR><BR>However, Marcos would be loaned for 2007&#8211;08 to fellow first division side Recreativo de Huelva, where he only appeared in half of the season&#39;s matches, with a goal against Real Murcia (4&#8211;2 home win).<BR><BR>He returned to Villarreal, only to be immediately loaned again, to Segunda Divisi&#243;n outfit Real Sociedad. He featured heavily during this spell, but the Basque failed to achieve a topflight return.<BR><BR>In late July 2009, Villarreal released Marcos, whom immediately signed a four-year contract with fellow league side Real Valladolid, as well as former Villarreal teammate C&#233;sar Arzo.
