Sanfrecce Hiroshima’s youth academy has produced a number of Japanese international over the years, but only one who has appeared in the FIFA World Cup™: Yuichi Komano.

Komano was a highly promising youngster who was coveted by Gamba Osaka, JEF United Ichihara, and Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and he plumped for the latter. After his father passed away, he vowed to one day play in the J.League and for the Blue Samurai, goals he has since fulfilled.

Komano’s early career was handicapped by injuries. In 2003 he suffered ligament damage and, while the following year he broke his left clavicle at the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament.

However, the determined player got over these problems and has been a key figure for Jubilo Iwata since he signed for them in 2008. Quick, alert, strong in the tackle and a competent passer, he is somebody who rarely lets his team down. Now 28, Komano reached his half-century of Japan appearances in 2010.
","57C2653B331A7DDA71EF0009D79DD15B8B218E4BC397458C":"1","7850BFBCDDAACDE9":"Yuichi Komano","65809D335DC33AB4":"19570","68B71F6A7FE5F18E":"72kg","826BE2C466376227EC096659909FEBC6":"Avispa Fukuoka,FC Tokyo,Avispa Fukuoka[on loan],Jubilo Iwata,Sanfrecce Hiroshima,Sanfrecce Hiroshima(U18)","2E0C5ADB6636D43E":"173cm","4EFF01CD2A1AA8474DF07D17EF0164A9":"Japan","D21B7B52C3154356":"1","71450CE0B6A0CA84C96E1AF31F3CA129":"1981-7-25","52D34B1F24A26AA271F2BD571AA0152C":"2","57C2653B331A7DDA9BB5C336225EACEB":"0","6F2A70628678CF42F2F15CA1EF3BF952":"
;
