Profile:

Denmark have qualified for three previous FIFA World Cups™, in 1986, 1998 and 2002, and believe it or not, one of their players from back in 1998 is still in the squad for this year's tournament, 12 years after making his FIFA World Cup bow.

This will be midfielder Martin Jorgensen's third FIFA World Cup, having played five times at France 98 and three times in Korea/Japan 2002. The 33-year-old also has an excellent record on the highest stage, with four wins and two draws from his eight games.

Jorgensen is best placed among the Danish team to know what it takes to make it through to the quarter-finals of a major tournament. He was part of the squad which made it to the last eight in France, and he even managed his only FIFA World Cup goal to date in their amazing quarter-final match against Brazil, giving Denmark a shock second minute lead. The Selecao, who had current coach Dunga in their ranks that day, finally ran out 3-2 winners, thanks in no small part to a brace from Rivaldo.

Jorgensen was a lynchpin of Morten Olsen's team during the 2010 qualifiers, playing in six of the matches and helping the Danes secure four wins and two draws.

The attacking midfielder made his professional debut for his home club Aarhus GF, before deciding to try his luck in 1997 in the Serie A, where he played over 300 matches and scored 44 goals, first with Udinese and then Fiorentina. At the beginning of this year, the 2001 Danish Cup winner returned to his home club, since when he has been gearing up for this summer's tournament.
