Jimmy Durmaz, formerly known as Jimmy Touma, is a Swedish-Assyrian footballer playing for Toulouse.
Durmaz began playing for BK Forward in his early teens and came to Malmo FF from BK Forward in July 2008. His breakthrough came in the 2010 league winning season when he started in 15 games and played 27. Durmaz spoke to Swedish media that he had signed a contract with Turkish club Genclerbirligi S.K. for three years, which was confirmed on 17 July 2012. After a few years, the 25-year-old signed for the Greek title holders Olympiacos in August 2014 and showed his remarkable behaviour and the performances in the team. In 2016, he joined Toulouse.
Durmaz made his debut for Sweden on 8 February 2011 in a friendly game against Cyprus. He was selected for the annual training camp for the Sweden national team in January 2012. In May 2018 he was named in Sweden's 23 man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. |
