To further his experience of English football, Bongani was loaned to Preston North End in March, 2011 and impressed in six games in the Championship, but couldn't prevent the team slipping to relegation.

In fact, Bongani suffered an ankle injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season in April, 2011 and he worked throughout the summer to regain his fitness in time to take his place in the squad for an emotional return to South Africa for our pre-season tour and the Vodacom Challenge in July, 2011.

On returning to England, Bongani joined Reading on loan for the 2011-12 campaign in the Championship but returned to Spurs in January 2012.

He was an unused substitute on four occasions in 2011-12.

Born in Manzini, Swaziland, Bongani is a regular for South Africa and captained SuperSport to a hat-trick of PSL titles between 2008-2010.

He caught the eye at the World Cup on home soil in 2010, where he played in all three group matches and scored in Bafana Bafana's memorable win against France, as the hosts narrowly failed to qualify for the knockout stages.

Bongani joined Greek side PAOK on loan for the 2012-13 season.
