Paul has penned a two-year deal, keeping him at Oakwell until the summer of 2007. The 21-year-old started his professional career with Norwich City but did not make the breakthrough at Carrow Road and moved to Scunthorpe in December 2002. He became a cult hero at Glanford Park, netting 33 goals in 116 first team appearances. Paul topped the scoring charts for Scunthorpe last season hitting 19 goals and helping The Iron to promotion to League One. He also netted against Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup. Paul impressed during his debut season with the club, netting some vital goals along the way. He bagged the opener in the Coca Cola League One Play Off Final and held his nerve to score from the spot in the historic penalty shoot out. |
