Profile
England may be absent from UEFA EURO 2008 but London-born winger Kazım Kazım will be at the tournament representing Turkey thanks to his Turkish-Cypriot mother and an eventful first season in the Süper Lig with Fenerbahçe SK, the highlight of which was a UEFA Champions League quarter-final goal against Chelsea FC.
After growing up in London borough of Walthamstow, he moved north in his mid-teens and started professional career in England's fourth tier at Bury FC.
Moved up to second-tier side Brighton & Hove Albion FC, where he played 42 games and scored goals in 2005/06 but was unable to prevent the south coast club's relegation.
Played in England's top flight for Sheffield United FC in 2006/07 (often as a substitute) but another relegation had silver lining as he won first cap for Turkey in friendly against Brazil in Dortmund and ten days later signed four-year contract with Fenerbahçe.
Mostly used as a substitute by Fenerbahçe coach Zico in both domestic and European competition; scored first UEFA Champions League goal against Chelsea – the equaliser in a 2-1 quarter-final first-leg win.
