Rubin Okotie is an Austrian professional footballer currently playing as a striker for German 2. Bundesliga side 1860 Munich.
Okotie is technically a very gifted footballer, and although a centre-forward by trade has all the skills to play on the wing. He also has a big spring, and his general style is very reminiscent of Cristiano Ronaldo.
His Austrian Bundesliga debut for Austrian team FK Austria Wien was on 5 August 2007 in a game against archrivals SK Rapid Wien. His first goal came on 23 February 2008, against FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga. On 30 May 2010, he left Austria Wien and signed a three-year contract with German side 1. FC Nuremberg. After leaving FC Nuremberg, in 2011, for a deal at Sturm Graz, Rubin Okotie subsequently returned to his boyhood club, Austria Wien, on 18 June 2013. After a loan spell at the Danish side SonderjyskE, Okotie joined 1860 Munich on 2 July 2014, signed a two-year contract. Currently a member of the Austria national football team he has played for the country at under-19-level in the 2006 European championships in Poland and under-20 level in the 2007 World Cup in Canada. He scored twice at the latter tournament, helping his side reach the semi-finals. In the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier, which Austria finished in first place, he scored the deciding goals against Russia and Montenegro.
