Profile:

Has made every post a winner since moving overseas to play with Lille in the French 1st Division. Left as one of the best young strikers in the country, but at Lille has developed into a very useful wide midfielder. Is very quick, has plenty of skill and on his day deadly in front of goal. His versatility could prove valuable to the Qantas Socceroos for many years to come. Has recently completed a move to Swiss Champions FC Basel.

Senior Appearances (A/Non-A):  19 (19/0)
Senior Goals (A/Non-A):  3 (3/0)
Senior 'A' Hat-tricks:  3 goals v Tahiti (won 9-0), Adelaide, May 2004
Senior 'A' Debut:  v Scotland (won 2-0); Glasgow, November 2000

Originally a pacy striker, Mile Sterjovski has developed into an attacking winger and his versatility makes him a handy squad player for the Socceroos.

He started out with Wollongong Wolves, then joined Wollongong United before impressive stints at Sydney United and Parramatta Power earned him a move to French side Lille.

After four years at Lille he headed east to Swiss club FC Basel where he joined up with his former Wollongong team-mate Scott Chipperfield. An Australian squad member at the 2001 and 2005 FIFA Confederation Cups.
