Daniel Paul "Danny" Butterfield is an English professional footballer who plays for Southampton. He has previously played for Grimsby Town, Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic in The Championship. He has also represented Palace in the Premier League. He is primarily utilised as a right back. However, Butterfield originally started out as a central midfielder for Palace and has played on the right of midfield as well.

On 16 July 2010, he joined Southampton on a one year deal and joined the squad in Interlaken ready for the game against FC Sochaux.
