Northampton Town signed Reading forward Simon Cox on loan in March 2007. The 5ft 11in striker has been with his hometown club since the age of nine, progressing through the academy system to make a number of first team appearances. A prolific goalscorer at reserve-team level, he can also operate in midfield. He has had two loan spells with Brentford previously, making a handful of senior appearances.
