Charlie Adam, son of Dundee Utd, Partick Thistle, Forfar and Arbroath star Charlie sr, has made steady progress at Murray Park in recent seasons and made his top team debut at the end of 2003/04.
The young central midfield, who has a wicked left peg, travelled to Prague for the UEFA Cup tie with Viktoria Zizkov and although his only duty was to help carry the kit hamper, he was given a taste of life as a top Rangers player.
A permanent fixture in John Brown's youth side, Charlie bagged a place on the top team bench against Motherwell in April 2004, alongside fellow starlets Ross McCormack and Alex Walker, and is determined to get a taste of the big time.
Big Eck handed Charlie his debut against Livingston in April 2004 and his first start at Dunfermline a month later. He enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Ross County during the 2004/05 campaign - scoring a sensational goal against St Mirren from the halfway line. Ironically he then went on loan to the Love Street outfit and helped them win the First Division and the Challenge Cup. He returned in the summer to Ibrox to play for Rangers under new boss Paul Le Guen. |
