Guy Bates is a former Newcastle United (England) reserves striker who has come out to Australia to make his mark on the 2005/06 Hyundai A-League. Born and bred in the north of England, Bates is definitely a tough Geordie through and through.

At only 19 years of aged Bates has been exposed to a lot of training with some of the biggest names in world football (internationals such as Alan Shearer and Patrick Kluivert to name a few). Bates has played with the Jets’ premier league namesake since he was 8 years old and has set several junior goal scoring records. With an incredibly powerful right boot, Bates is sure to be a standout in this year’s competition.
