Born in France, Hamed Namouchi was a trainee at the Cannes football academy and had a trial with Chelsea before signing for Glasgow Rangers in 2003. He is a fast right-sided midfielder who chose to play for Tunisia because his parents were born there. His superb form for the Rangers U-21 team earned him a call up to the first team squad and a contract extension which will keep him at the Glasgow club until 2008. Despite his young age, Namouchi has already represented Tunisia at the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2006 African Cup of Nations.
