The keeper from Paradela started to excel at C. D. Lugo, a team in which he placed from 1994 until 2000. In his last year he was signed to Real Madrid Third Division. The next season he was loaned to Alcorcón, a team from which he returned to the Madrid second Team. That season he also acted as assistant to the trainer of the A Cadets. The 2004-05 season will always be marked in his memory, as he achieved promotion with Real Madrid B, from Second Division B to the Second. After his impressive season the club decided to bet on him, giving him a place on the first team as second goalkeeper. Diego is another of the promising players from the Whites Junior teams. As a goalkeeper he stands out for his good reflexes and his ability to direct the defense. His aerial play, thanks to his tremendous physique, and one-on-one play are his strong points |
