| An attacking right-sided full-back in the traditional Brazilian mould, Cicinho had a year to remember in 2005. Not only did he help his club side Sao Paulo to glory in both the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Championship, but the flying right-back also won the FIFA Confederations Cup with Brazil and was voted the best player in his position in the Brazilian league. A move to Real Madrid followed in January this year and many observers now see Cicinho as the natural successor to the legendary Cafu in the Seleção line-up.
