National team

Ivankov has proved a reliable understudy to Zdravko Zdravkov, winning more than 20 international caps and playing in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2000?. Five years Zdravkov's junior, he is expected to succeed the current No1.

UEFA EURO 2004? qualifying

He filled in for the injured Zdravkov in two matches and did not let his country down, keeping clean sheets in 2-0 and 3-0 Group 8 victories against Estonia and Andorra respectively.

Club

The charismatic goalkeeper graduated from the youth team at PFC Levski Sofia and has steadily climbed the club ladder to arrive at his current position of first-team captain.

2003: Apart from a brief loan spell at FC Rozova Dolina Kazanlak, Ivankov has been a one-club man. Levski's first-choice goalkeeper since 1999, he helped the club win three successive league titles between 2000 and 2002 and picked up Bulgarian Cup winners medals in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2003.

2003/2004: He signed a new one-year contract at Levski with the option of a further year's extension in October 2003.
