Profile:
Midfielder Neil Kilkenny moved to St. Andrew's from Arsenal in January 2004 on an initial two-and-a-half year professional contract after coming through the Highbury youth set-up.

He impressed sufficiently to earn himself a new contract until 2009.

Blues fought off interest from a number of clubs to sign the talented midfielder, who has made several appearances for England at youth level.

Kilkenny spent six months on loan at League One side Oldham Athletic in 2004/05 and made a favourable impression at the Lancashire club, scoring five goals in 34 games to help Brian Talbot's Latics avoid relegation to the bottom division.

He made his breakthrough into the Blues first team during 2005/06 and ended the season with a total of 25 appearances to his name.
