Jakub Kadak (born 14 December 2000) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Swiss Super League club Luzern and the Slovakia national team.
Kadak developed an interest in football when he was four years old. He went to watch it with his older brother, who was playing for Stankovec. The club's coach recommended Kadak to try football, to which he accepted.
Kadak made his Fortuna Liga debut for AS Trencin against Spartak Trnava on 10 March 2018. Trencin lost the game to the later champions 1–2. Kadak replaced Lukas Skovajsa in the 80th minute.
On 18 July 2022, Kadak joined Swiss Super League club Luzern, signing a four-year contract. After a 0–2 loss against FC Sion in August 2023, he suffered a serious knee injury and was sidelined for the rest of the season.
Kadak represented Slovakia national under-21 football team under Jaroslav Kentos in 2023 Under-21 European Championship qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Spain, being called up on 17 March.
On 16 March 2022, Kadak received his first call-up to the senior national team|Slovak senior squad by coach stefan Tarkovic as a back-up footballer ahead of two international friendly matches against Norway and Finland. He was also an alternate for June fixtures. In November 2023, he debuted during the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kadak's style of play has been compared to those of Marek Hamsik, Ondrej Duda, and Marek Mintal. |
