Liam joined City on loan from Sunderland in November in a deal which is likely to become permanent in the New Year. A goalscoring midfielder by trade, the 25-year-old star can operate on either flank or through the middle, although his favoured position is on the right. He joined Sunderland from Mansfield in June 2004 for £175,000 after emerging through the ranks and scoring 22 goals in 2003/04 at Field Mill. A regular in the Black Cats side which won promotion to the Premiership in 2004/05 and was subsequently relegated last season, he was named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time in March 2006. |
