Capped for the first time on a tour to South America in January 2007, Johan Wiland travels to UEFA EURO 2008? as Sweden's third-choice goalkeeper. He has spent his entire club career with hometown outfit IF Elfsborg.
Joined Elfsborg at 17; made Allsvenskan debut in 2000 and has been club's first choice between the posts since.
Won the 2001 Swedish Cup after epic penalty shoot-out in final v AIK Solna (10-9); club kept trophy for 18 months due to competition calendar change.
Regained cup in 2003 with 2-0 victory over Assyriska Freningen.
Played in 2004 UEFA European Under-21 finals, finishing fourth.
Reached career high in 2006 when Elfsborg won Allsvenskan title for first time in 45 years; started all 26 matches, conceding 19 goals (the best in division) and keeping 12 clean sheets.
In goal for all 12 of Elfsborg's European encounters in 2007/08 – six in UEFA Champions League qualifying (eliminated by Valencia CF), six in UEFA Cup (reached group stage).
