Jofre Mateu González , commonly known as simply Jofre, is a Spanish footballer who plays for Real Valladolid as an attacking midfielder.
A product of FC Barcelona's prolific youth system, Jofre made his first team debut on 15 May 1998, in the last round of the season. He scored as a substitute in a 1–4 home loss to UD Salamanca. Playing mainly with the B team, Jofre only amassed one more appearance with the main side, four years later.
In 2002, he joined second division's Levante UD, being instrumental in the side's 2004 promotion to La Liga, and appearing in 27 league contests in the following season, which ended in relegation.
Jofre returned to Catalonia and the top division with RCD Espanyol, but played almost no part in a team that narrowly avoided relegation. He then moved to Real Murcia, contributing with three league goals to another top flight promotion.
In August 2008, Jofre signed with Rayo Vallecano, freshly promoted to the second division, starting during most of his spell at the Madrid side. |
