Viktor Gorridsen Fischer is a Danish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or as a winger for Danish club F.C. Copenhagen and the Denmark national team.
Fischer can best be described as a technically and offensively oriented player who's always trying to go forward. Scoring goals is his second nature; he regularly finds the net with ease. Another strong point of the Dane is that he doesn't only create space for himself on the pitch, but also for his team mates.
After playing in the youth ranks for IF Lyseng, Fischer then decided in 2004 to move to AGF and then later FC Midtjylland in his native Denmark, Fischer joined the youth of AFC Ajax, where he played for the A1 selection in his first year with the Amsterdam side, having signed a three-year contract, binding him to the club until 30 June 2014. On 26 May 2016, signed a four-year contract with newly-promoted Premier League team Middlesbrough for a reported transfer fee of €5 million. On 28 June 2017, Fischer joined Bundesliga side Mainz 05 on a four-year deal until 2021. In January 2018, Fischer returned to Denmark signing with defending champions Copenhagen on a 4½-year contract until 2022. Fischer represented Denmark at U16, U17, U19 and U21 level. On 14 November 2012, Fischer made his senior debut. |
