Sebastien Frey has just enjoyed an outstanding season for ACF Fiorentina, both in Serie A and the UEFA Cup. UEFA EURO 2008 will be his first taste of major tournament football although he will be battling it out with Steve Mandanda for the role as deputy to France No1 Grégory Coupet.
Made debut in France's top flight with AS Cannes aged 17 and was signed by FC Internazionale Milano in 1998.
Made Serie A debut three days after 19th birthday – a 4-0 defeat by UC Sampdoria.
Spent 1999/00 season on loan at Hellas-Verona FC but back to Inter following term where he established himself under coach Marcello Lippi and became France's Under-21 goalkeeper.
Joined Parma FC, where he spent four productive years; club won 2002 Coppa Italia but played no part, being preserved for Serie A and European games.
Helped rescue Parma from relegation (in play-off v Bologna FC) before moving to Fiorentina, where he reunited with former coach Cesare Prandelli; ever-present in 2006/07 and reached semi-finals of UEFA Cup the following season.
France debut in final UEFA EURO 2008 qualifier v Ukraine (2-2 in Kiev).
