But the veteran attacker proved an ideal foil for Dimitar Berbatov. <BR><BR>UEFA EURO 2004? qualifying <BR><BR>Jankovic got Bulgaria&#39;s campaign off to an ideal start by scoring his side&#39;s first goal in the crucial 2-0 win over Belgium in Brussels in the opening fixture. He made six starts and one substitute appearance as Bulgaria topped Group B. <BR><BR>Club<BR><BR>The playmaker started his career in Serbia and Montenegro, representing FK Borac Cacak, FK ?eleznik and FK Vojvodina. But it was following his move to Bulgarian side PFC Litex Lovech in March 2000 that Jankovic&#39;s career took off. <BR><BR>2000: He was an instant success at Litex, scoring 13 goals in his first season and helping the club lift the Bulgarian Cup. By the end of that campaign he was regarded as Litex&#39;s most important player and he received Bulgarian citizenship later in 2001. <BR><BR>2002: Jankovic was the leading scorer in the Bulgarian first division with 13 goals from 20 matches when the Chinese champions Dalian Shide signed him for &#8364;1.7m in March 2002.
