The reliable Donis Escober is enjoying one of the most productive spells of his career, turning in some excellent performances for his club and holding on to his place in the Honduras squad. An understudy to Noel Valladares during the qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, Escober also alternates the No1 jersey with the country’s first-choice keeper at Olimpia, where the two have built up a healthy and friendly rivalry.

Now 30, Escober has been with Los Leones all his career. Proving his reliability at an early stage, he won his first Honduras call-up in 2002. Sadly for him, he was unable to reproduce his consistent club form on a regular basis at international level and failed to make the Catracho jersey his own.

Earning another opportunity under Reinaldo Rueda at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, he did not disappoint, putting together some steady displays to regain the confidence of the Bicolor fans, who now see him as a trustworthy deputy to Valladares.

Though a starting place looks unlikely at South Africa 2010, Donis has impressed with Olimpia of late and will be out to do himself justice should a chance come his way on the world stage.
","3316B2DB0B85B0BE":"Donis Escober","68B71F6A7FE5F18E":"78kg","6F2A70628678CF42F2F15CA1EF3BF952":"","55115EEDFFE75225FD0E1787F70FC7CB":"2001
;
