He was a member of the FA Cup-winning side two years later, before making a move to local rivals Jeonbuk Motors the following season.<BR><BR>Kang won his first cap in a friendly with the Netherlands in June 2007, and went on to take part in the AFC Asian Cup under the guidance of Pim Verbeek. He also featured in the 2008 Olympic Football Tournament in Beijing, while playing in nine matches in the Asian Zone qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa&#212; with his former boss at Chunnam calling him up at the very beginning of the preliminary competition.<BR><BR>Kang then joined Jeju United where he formed a partnership with national team-mate Cho Yong-Hyung in central defence throughout the 2009 season.
