Anatoliy Tymoshchuk is a deep-lying midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and capable of ferocious long-range shooting.

Tymoshchuk's time with Shakhtar is credited with establishing him as a great midfielder in Europe. Then Tymoshchuk transferred to Zenit St. Petersburgfirst, helping Zenit win the Russian Premier League title for the first time in the club's history. During his Bayern Munich spell, Tymoshchuk won his first trophy with Bayern, the Bundesliga 2009–10, then the Champions League in 2013.
