The slightly-built pacy and skilful youngster is yet another that has made the journey from Australia to Bundesliga club Nuremberg. An attacking midfielder who usually operates on the right flank where he likes to run at defenders using his speed and close dribbling skills.

Vidosic made his international debut in the dying minutes of Australia’s 2010 FIFA World Cup™ qualifying campaign coming on as a substitute for Tim Cahill in the home match against Japan. Regularly called into the squad since that match last June suggests Pim Verbeek believes the 23-year-old fits well in the team structure. Born in Croatia, Vidosic’s family moved to Australia when Dario was one-year-old after father Rado, who is assistant coach at A-League club Brisbane Roar, accepted a playing contract down under.

Vidosic arrived in Bavaria in mid-2007 but found first-team action to be limited in his first season, he then made a solid contribution to the team cause as Nuremberg won their way back into the Bundesliga last year. Despite again experiencing semi-regular first-team action he was loaned out to second tier club Duisburg in January.

A regular in the Australian qualifying campaign that successfully qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics only to be omitted from the final squad. Selection for South Africa 2010 undoubtedly making up for that disappointment.

;
