Green began at Norwich City, coming through the ranks at the Canaries before establishing himself as their first-choice keeper after a brief apprenticeship behind the experienced Andy Marshall. <BR><BR>Green made his debut for the Canaries against local rivals Ipswich Town on April 11th 1999, aged 19. He kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw and, following Marshall&#39;s departure for the Tractor Boys in the summer of 2001, Green was a regular in Nigel Worthington&#39;s side. He produced an outstanding debut campaign as number one and kept 18 clean sheets as Norwich reached the Championship Play-Off Final, where they lost out to Birmingham City on penalties.<BR><BR>The following campaign, Green was an ever-present and recorded 19 clean sheets to further enhance his quickly-developing reputation. And it wasn&#39;t long before then-England Manager Sven-G&#246;ran Eriksson rewarded him with a call-up to his squad. Green was an unused substitute against Sweden in March 2004. Two months later he was celebrating promotion with Norwich City - his 18 clean-sheets being a crucial part of their return to the Premier League.<BR><BR>Norwich were relegated the following season while Green becameonly the sixth player in the Club&#39;s history to be capped for England at senior level when he replaced David James in a friendly against Colombia on May 31st 2005. In the summer of 2006, following their failure to win promotion, the Canaries accepted a bid reported to be &#163;2million from West Ham United for their keeper. In his first campaign with the Hammers, Green found himself involved in another relegation battle, but he played a key role as the East London side preserved their top-flight status with a 1-0 win at Manchester United on the final day.<BR><BR>In 2007\/08, Green&#39;s consistency between the sticks - which included saving three consecutive penalties - led to him being named Hammer of the Year as the Club finished tenth in the top-flight. In the following two campaigns, Green played in all 38 league matches for West Ham and in 2010\/11 he made a total of 44 appearances for the Club and was yet again hugely consistent, being named Hammer of the Year runner-up behind Scott Parker. However, he was unable to save the Club from relegation that term.<BR><BR>In 2011\/12, he made 42 appearances for Sam Allardyce&#39;s side, including a Wembley outing, as the Hammers won promotion back to the Premier League courtesy of a 2-1 win over Blackpool in the Play-Off Final.
