He is usually a left sided defender, although he can also play as a holding midfielder or winger.<BR><BR><STRONG>Career<BR><\/STRONG>He started his career at homeland club ASEC Abidjan, where he came through the famed youth academy that has produced so many of the C&#244;te d&#39;Ivoire national team of today, before he eventually moved abroad to play in the South African Premier Soccer League for Mamelodi Sundowns. In the summer of 2005 he made the move to Europe to play for French Ligue 1 club AS Saint-&#201;tienne, staying there until October 2006. He joined Ligue 2 side Stade Reims on loan after being unable to get a place in the AS Saint-&#201;tienne midfield. He returned to Saint-&#201;tienne during the summer of 2007.<BR><BR><STRONG>International career<BR><\/STRONG>Ti&#233;n&#233; has also played a part in the international scene for C&#244;te d&#39;Ivoire. He was a member of the Ivorian squad for the 2006 African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, where the Elephants reached the final. Ti&#233;n&#233; was in the starting line-up for the final, but the team were eventually overcome by hosts Egypt 4&#8211;2 in a penalty shoot-out. Ti&#233;n&#233; was the only player in the Ivorian&#39;s African Cup of Nations team not to make it into the 2006 World Cup squad. He was replaced by Abdul Kader Ke&#239;ta who plays for Ligue 1 club OSC Lille. His latest international call-up was for the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar, where he started the match on the left wing. The Elephants won the game 3&#8211;0, with goals from Steve Gohouri, Aruna Dindane and Amara Dian&#233;. He was called up for C&#244;te d&#39;Ivoire&#39;s 2010 African Cup of Nations campaign in Angola.
