At 29, Edson Buddle has yet to figure prominently in the US national team set-up, but his nose for goal and fine form for LA Galaxy in the run-up to South Africa make him a dangerous joker for his coach.<BR><BR>Beginning his club career in the US lower leagues, he made the move to MLS in 2001 with Columbus Crew, where he scored an impressive 42 goals in 101 appearances for the Ohio club. Moves to New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC followed, but the fleet-footed striker failed to recreate the good form he had in Columbus. Finally in 2007 Buddle found a home in Los Angeles, linking up with strike partner Landon Donovan. Improving with every season at the southern California club, he started the current campaign in a rich vein of form with nine goals in nine games and is currently the scorer in Major League Soccer.<BR><BR>His first cap for USA came in 2003, but he has only amassed a handful of appearances since then.
