| Equally gifted in both attack and defence, Sao Paulo’s goal-scoring goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni could prove to be Brazil’s secret weapon at this summer’s FIFA World Cup™. A natural born leader both on and off the pitch, he has now notched up over 60 goals in his professional career. Such is his comfort with the ball at his feet, that the veteran stopper is often the prime instigator behind Sao Paulo’s effective counter-attacking play. Although Ceni secured his passage to Germany primarily due to former number one Marcos’ failure to shrug off an injury, many commentators consider him to be Brazil’s top performer between the posts. He inspired his club to Copa Libertadores glory in 2005 and subsequently went on to win Player of the Tournament in Sao Paulo’s victorious FIFA Club World Championship TOYOTA Cup Japan 2005 campaign.
