Renowned in Brazil for his penalty-saving abilities, he confirmed his national team place after the 1998 FIFA World Cup™, although he had already played in the CONMEBOL Copa America and the 1996 Olympic Football Tournament. Has won many major competitions in his long career including the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup, Copa America, the Brazilian and Italian championships and cups, UEFA Champions League, CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Championship.
