A highly versatile creative midfielder, Luis Saritama is capable of slotting into a traditional playmaker’s role or operating on either wing. Blessed with an ability to score goals and set them up for his team-mates, he has become one of the main attacking weapons of his club side Deportivo Quito, where he now wears the captain’s armband despite being only 22. After representing his country at U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels, he graduated to the senior squad under the tutelage of Hernan Dario Gomez, who handed him his debut in a friendly against Peru in 2002. In a burgeoning international career, Sari>/i> has so far appeared in the U-23 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the 2004 Copa America and two qualifiers for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.
